Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking 2 experienced Production Project Manager to join their client's team in the Thomasville, NC area. The Production Project Manager is a key, hands-on leader responsible for driving production efficiency, coordinating operations, and ensuring the furniture manufacturing floor runs smoothly. This role is ideal for a go-getter with strong manufacturing experience-preferably furniture-who thrives in a dynamic environment, takes initiative, and enjoys wearing multiple hats.

This person will act as the operational glue between production, purchasing, leadership, and vendors. They will oversee daily workflow, help remove bottlenecks, support floor teams, and implement improvements that keep projects on track and production moving.

Salary Range: $50,000-$65,000 annually pending experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Location: Fully Onsite in the Thomasville, NC area

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations Leadership

  • Oversee daily production activities to maintain smooth workflow and ensure schedules are met.
  • Proactively identify production issues, delays, or material shortages and implement fast, effective solutions.
  • Work closely with floor supervisors and staff to support priorities, resolve challenges, and keep projects on target.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently upheld.

Project Management & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as the central communication hub between production, purchasing, leadership, and vendors.
  • Track progress of multiple production-related projects and communicate updates to leadership.
  • Anticipate operational needs, identify gaps in processes, and help implement simple systems to improve efficiency.
  • Assist in planning and prioritizing workload based on schedules, deadlines, and available resources.

Materials, Vendors & Inventory Control

  • Prepare quotes for new orders, serve as primary customer contact, provide updates and timelines for deliverables.
  • Coordinate material availability, vendor deliveries, and inventory to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Prepare BOLs, work orders, shipping labels while maintaining accurate data.
  • Develop relationships with local vendors and source alternatives as needed to avoid downtime.
  • Oversee inventory tracking and ensure accurate reporting on usage, reorder points, and material requirements.
  • Occasionally visit or coordinate with local vendors to procure items directly for time-sensitive needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in production operations, project coordination, or manufacturing supervision, with furniture manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment while juggling multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills; able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and floor staff.
  • Highly proactive problem-solver who thrives in an environment where they can take initiative and own outcomes.
  • Strong organizational abilities; comfortable tracking projects, materials, and timelines.
  • Proficiency with Excel, NetSuite, or similar ERP/manufacturing tracking systems.

This position is a supervisory role, offering a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on experience.
